Summer Wilderness Adventures Saskatchewan
As the weather warms up, you can enjoy a great list of summer wilderness adventures in Saskatchewan that are perfect for both beginner and seasoned wilderness adventurers. From quietly observing life spring back into animation after the long, cold winter, to enjoying the thrill of fishing by the river, we’ve got something for everyone here at Howling Wolf. Here’s what’s on offer:
Activities
Canoeing
Canoeing – The river at camp is very slow-moving and is excellent for novice wilderness adventurers to learn how to canoe. Conditions are similar to canoeing on a small lake. Not far downstream of camp are some rapids that are more challenging and would require an intermediate to experienced wilderness adventurer.
Fishing
Fishing – Are you an experienced angler or just starting out? Either way, you can practice your fishing skills here at Howling Wolf Riverside Cabins where our slow-moving riverside is the perfect training ground for learning or just flexing your skills.
Hiking & Nature Walks in The Wilderness
Hiking and nature walks – There’s nothing nicer than taking a hike during the summer months as you appreciate surroundings bursting with new wildlife. You can take as many hikes and nature walks as you like around the area to really absorb Saskatchewan’s beauty.
Wildlife & Bird Watching
Wildlife viewing (including birding) – If you’re a keen birdwatcher, you’ll love Howling Wolf Riverside Cabins. There’s plenty of opportunities to view and even snap some pictures of the local wildlife that include rare birds and even the occasional wolf.
Wilderness Photography
Wilderness photography – Local wildlife includes moose, black bear, whitetail deer, elk, river otter, beaver, lynx, wolves, coyotes, foxes, squirrels, marten, weasels, and rabbits.
Guided Wilderness Day Trips
Guided day trips – We know that getting lost in the woods is some people’s worst nightmare, but don’t worry, our staff at Howling Wolf Nature Cabins have you covered with guided day trips.
Guided Wilderness Overnight Trips
Guided overnight trips to our remote campsite, Aurora Camp. Need something a little more remote? No problem.
